The Long Center will throw its doors open wide on Sunday, August 31, 2014 and invite the public to experience some of the best dance, music and theatre that Austin has to offer! You’re invited to the free Long Center Open House, from noon to 4pm on August 31.

 

Experience the best dance, music and theatre that Austin has to offer, from the comfort and acoustic splendor of the Long Center, Austin’s Creative Home, in the heart of downtown. Join us for all-access backstage tours, special ticket offers, free performances, kids’ activities, food and more! Featuring live and video introductions to Founding Resident Companies: Austin Lyric OperaAustin Symphony Orchestraand Ballet Austin as well as Resident Companies: Austin ShakespeareConspirarePollyanna Theatre and Tapestry Dance Company.

 

 

Visitors will be treated to previews from the upcoming seasons of Austin’s premiere performing arts organizations. Live performances will take place throughout the day in both the Rollins Studio Theatre and Michael & Susan Dell Hall. Back stage tours will give you an up close and personal experience of what goes into staging a performance. Staff will be on hand to answer questions and show interested patrons available seat locations in person. All visitors will have the chance to enter a Grand Prize Giveaway which includes tickets to dozens of performances in the upcoming seasons of all of our participating organizations, a nearly $15,000 value!
